The Renaissance Hotel at the Depot is one of the Marriott branded properties in Minneapolis, MN. This particular property also happens to be the flagship hotel of CSM Corporation; a company that acquires, develops, and renovates commercial, lodging, and residential real estate. They own properties around the country, and their headquarters happens to be across the street from the Depot in Minneapolis.
While working for the Renaissance Hotel, I became a key player in implementing the new brand standards being rolled out by Marriott. At the time that I joined the Renaissance team, they had just completed phase one of the re-brand; and having experienced three brands prior to working at the Renaissance, I utilized my brand knowledge to make the transition run smoothly for the Reception Ambassadors and Navigators.
Additionally, the Renaissance was my first experience with a brand whose target demographic was not primarily families. Although we certainly had many families stay at the Renaissance seasonally for weddings and family reunions, or to enjoy the ice rink + indoor waterpark, our primary guests were single adults 23-35. The Renaissance brand has been developed to encompass the things that matter to Gen-Y; primarily high quality food, ascetically pleasing decor, and indigenous elements. While you will find all three of these elements in any given Renaissance Hotel, you will never find two identical Renaissance properties. This, among many other things, is one of the reasons I fell in love with this brand. Uniqueness + individuality, with a uniform level of exceptional service.
