Media Professional. Working + playing in the Twin Cities.

The Midas-Exchange is a media & asset trade company, under the WPP umbrella of companies. Being a part of the WPP portfolio provides the ability to develop and execute innovative media & asset trading programs, which deliver all around higher ROI for our clients & partners.

Our team works tirelessly to ensure the brands, companies, and products we are representing in the marketplace for media & digital placement, are portrayed exactly per their instructions. Meaning we only purchase media spots during programming and on networks that align with their brand standards, that aim to reach their target demographic.

With my role at Midas-Exchange being my first working experience outside of the hospitality, tourism, and wedding industries; I am constantly learning and taking in the information being presented to me. This has been a fascinating experience thus far, and I look forward to continuing to learn about the Media Industry and how I can continue to grow in this field.

Media Negotiator

The primary responsibilities of a Media Negotiator were to work closely with management to establish a buy recommendation that will best suit the client's goals. Once the general course of action for the buy has been determined, I was tasked with building out scenarios and creating a buy proposal to be presented for the client's approval. In addition to developing and presenting buy proposals, it was also my responsibility to train new assistant negotiators and act as their primary resource while they learned to properly steward a buy.

Assistant Media Negotiator

My daily tasks would vary by week, but my overall goals as an Assistant Media Negotiator were to ensure the execution of our clients' plans ran smoothly. It was my responsibility to be the first stop to catch, assess, and address any problems occurring. For instance, if one particular network is continually under-delivering, it was up to me to work with them to bring that delivery up. Once I have taken all possible measures to independently solve a problem, I would bring in the Sr. Media Negotiator (my supervisor), and we would establish a plan of action. After we have exhausted our resources, we take it a step higher in the chain of command; and so on, and so on.
